The Royal Family should start by returning all the Jewels, Diamonds and precious stones to their rightful owners, mostly plundered from the colonies and especially from India. And the Kohinoor Diamond is a vivid symbol of the plundering and stealing done in the name of the British Monarchy. There is nothing to be proud of these looted jewels in which you can see blood dripping from them. Top ten priceless items stolen from india by british http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoOURIdTT3g

Beautiful show, well done. As an American, i'm sorry that i just don't understand how people could accept having someone else claim a "right" to be over them, "by God and royal birthright". Why don't they ever ask why German people have the right to rule them? Or why their queen married a natzi? Funny how they don't talk about that or show the home movies of their queen, as a child, being taught how to throw the "Heil Hitler" salute. Just curious.

+John King The Queen married Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark who is of Danish, British and German ancestry. His sisters were married to genuine NAZIs and were excluded from the wedding in 1947 and the Coronation in 1953. The Queen doesn't own any of the crowns or the State Diadem. Her personal jewellery is of course priceless but they were bought and paid for by her ancestors. Diana would NOT have worn the Queen Consort's Crown because a new Consort crown is always made for a new Queen Consort. Most of the jewels come from the previous crown including the Koh-I-Noor diamond.

And then they were passed on to other wealthy people, by way of payoffs, bribes, treaties, gifts, etc. hundreds (and thousands) of years ago, and now YOU think YOU know who the true owners are??? And where are these "peaceful countries" you speak of? The one's who have everything "taken from them??" Do you know how foolish you sound? By your logic, these jewels technically belong to the Earth, and therefore should be put back into the ground, because mother nature had them first. Father, The Creator, granted the request for the impersonator to have a limited time of pretence with a high level of pain allotment. In The Worlds Plan, which is currently underway, God wanted individuals to be in positions of kings, queens etc while living on Earth. All positions are prearranged on Earth. Father is King of Creation and Mother is Queen of Creation the only true royalty for Eternity. At about 48:00 a comment was made that the Queen only have Princess Diana a few items & Duchess of York none..that maybe she held back because of troublesome marriages from the start & waiting for them to be married longer like 10-25 years anniversary. Then why does The Duchess of Cornwall have so many? In my opinion one of the least deserving. At least if she had given Diana & Sarah the jewels they would of been passed down to The Queens grandchildren.... Kinda frustrating. I also think that if given jewels upon divorce, desperation or death...the family should be offered 1st dibbs before saleing them at auction...that's just my opinion.

*Denise Wright* Clearly you know nothing about The Duchess of Cornwall apart from the garbage pouring forth from cheap tabloids. Diana had some of the Spencer jewels and some pieces Charles and the Queen bought her, these apart from the ones Diana sold have passed to her eldest son, Prince William. Fergie received loads of jewels from Andrew but as is usual for her, many of them were sold to fund her ridiculous lifestyle. You seem to be suggesting that camilla has amassed a vast collection of jewelry, she hasn't. Don't base your opinions on YouTube videos or tabloid crap.

Vor 7 Tage
Daniela Simonetta Sfameni
Daniela Simonetta Sfameni

Most of the jewels the Duchess of Cornwall wears are from the late Queen Mother who left some of her most valuable pieces such as the Boucheron Tiara to Prince Charles. As Camilla is now his wedded wife it is natural that he wants her to "look the part" and so she often wears these splendid jewels. I am glad however that she ceased to wear the Loversknot Tiara which had been given to Diana by the Queen on her Wedding day and taken back right after her death. It is much more befitting that the Duchess of Cornwall is wearing it and anyway, Camilla has enough jewelry that she does not need to create negative emotions by wearing pieces Princess Diana had in her possession while she was alive.

That sword is as tall as I am!

Vor 2 Monate

*Ruth Hammons* The Scottish Crown Jewels are called, "The Honours of Scotland".The Jewels were kept hidden under the pulpit during the Cromwellian invasion by James Grainger, Church of Scotland Minister of Kineff Parish Church after they were smuggled out of nearby Dunottar Castle. When the monarchy was restored the jewels were taken to Edinburgh Castle and locked in a trunk. When George IV visited the castle with Sir Walter Scott in 1818, the trunk was opened and there they were, all dulled and sad looking. The Sword is some 3.25" in length so either you are a child or a midget if the sword is as tall as you are. Are you seriously telling us you are descended from James Grainger, Sir Walter Scott, The Duke of Hamilton or even King George IV?????

I'm an American, and well aware of the benefits of British Royalty. It wouldn't work in most countries, but it's wonderfully unique to Britain and is one of their most endearing institutions. There are many haters (even in Britain) but many don't understand the amount of money this family generates through tourism alone - not to mention the fact that it is a unifying force for the nation's morale, strength and identity. There is no country on Earth who's character is so clearly identifiable and consistent. No other Monarchy has captured the imagination of the world quite the same as the Brits. Yes, they (The Royals) are just people - but this Monarchy - with it's enduring history, continuity, and tradition of bygone days, should be a source of great pride to every British subject. From the other side of the pond I say, "God save the Queen!"

Vor 17 Tage

The monarchy is part of our national DNA that we've inherited from our ancestors - that's the truth. It's not about money, or tourism or even the day-to-day functioning of government. It's almost a mystical thing that lies at the heart of our inner self confidence. That's a thing that's especially true of the English. Not claiming any of this is especially healthy, but ask anyone what they really feel &, if you try hard enough, you'll probably get the same answer.

Please learn history! The government in Russia murdered the Granddaughter of Queen Victoria, and most of the jewels were confiscated from the murdered royals. Many of the jewels that were smuggled out of Russia were purchased by the family of the murdered royals. They are family. The very government who killed them is the government to whom you would give these family jewels.

Beautiful !! It's interesting to see them, and learn the history of the jewels. It is also interesting to hear the envy, and jealousy connected with these baubles !! LOL !! I have never seen or understood all the hoopla about stones and such !! I've seen paste that is quite pretty.. I don't get the value of some of the stones, it seems that we have unlimited diamonds !! I just don't get it !!!

Martie Gallego I love jewelry with precious stones....and had worked hard to buy some 30 pieces of very lovely and impressive fine jewelry over 40 years. Unfortunately, my home was burglarized twice and all but five pieces were stolen. Learning about precious stones, is equally enjoyable as wearing them. The stunning, beautiful shining jewels, do not come out of the ground like that. Precious stones in their rough origins are dull, brittle and very unimpressve. But once the highly skilled artisans, technicians, designers and gifted cutters work their magic on these stones....they are like beautiful butterflys emerging from the cocoon. I could and never would steal or kill for beautiful jewels;. But I totally get why others have done it down through history! Holding in your hand, and looking deep into the Magnificent hue of a 30 plus carat emerald ring, is most, most impressive and mesmerizing!!! You really cannot describe it! Something inside you immediately wants to possess it!

It's no surprise how Queen Mary hoovered up the exiled Russian royals jewels at knock down prices, she was a well known kleptomaniac. Whenever those in her circle became aware the Queen was to visit they'd hide away as much of their valuables as possible because if Queen Mary spotted something she fancied she'd make it very clear how she admired such and such a piece and invariably she acquired the piece. On one occasion she actually managed to get her hands on an antique dining table and 12 chairs!

Vor 5 Monate

+Sherry Caraway Er no, Queen Mary was a klepto. She would simply say, "Oh what a beautiful piece, it would look wonderful at Sandringham" and that was it, the hostess would be expected to give it to her irrespective of provenance. During the war she used to steal farm equipment, "for the war effort" and her staff would have to quietly return it.

Also Queen Mary had an encyclopedia memory of all royal furniture, knick-knacks, lamps bookend and everything else. Some of those collections were broken up by previous Kings and given to friends as gifts. Queen Mary would visit those homes as guests of the nobility. She would inevitably she would see a chair, picture, book end or what ever and realized it was part of the royal collection and confiscate it to be put back in the original collection. This is how she got the description of being a kleptomaniac. So yes, those people would hide things when she came for a visit. She might have even noticed at one her palaces a portraits of a previous King sitting in a certain chair and would immediately recognize the real chair in a nobleman's house and confiscate it.

+Jennifer Miller Respectfully, you're making a common mistake. It's not the "spelling" which is doing the revealing. It's the spelling in the "COMMENTS" which is doing the revealing. For instance, it's correct to say, "The look on their faces reveal a deep disappointment." The "look" in this case doesn't reveal, but "the look on their FACES" is what's doing the revealing. The original comment by Carol Brewbaker should read: "The spelling of some of these comments REVEAL just how poor we are, as a people!"

Jennifer Miller: Actually, Carol Brewbaker's grammar was correct the first time. There is absolutely no grammatical error in the phrase, "the spelling of some of these comments reveal just how poor we are, as a people." The term, "the spelling of some of these comments" is a compound possessive and therefore can, "reveal."

I'm curious if the queen will have these same feelings since Meghan Markle is part of the royal family now..I am sure that Kate having been a member of the royal family for quiet some time now is loaned pieces more frequently than Diana was but I am curious if they will be so kind to Meghan.

supernumery She ruined a number of lives too. Post divorce about a dozen of her loyal staff left, and could have taken her to an industrial tribunal for constructive dismissal. One did and received a payout. The rest didn't because Prince Charles paid them three times the amount that they would have been awarded by a tribunal. He didn't have to, but he did it to save her reputation. Not many people know that, and none of the so called Diana maniacs would want to know. The sad thing is that she could have done so much more good than she did, had she not been so obsessed with self publicity. There was one Christmas when, having had some negative press, she had her secretary ring Mother Teresa in Calcutta, and try to arrange a visit - which would have been great publicity. Instead, they suggested she visit their centre in London. That would not have made such great publicity, and the visit never happened. The legend of the great caring princess would only work if she had more publicity than anyone else.

*Suzannah Wade* Why? And she was *NEVER* Princess Diana, she was at various times, HRH The Princess Charles, The Princess of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. She was *NEVER* created a princess of the United Kingdom, her HRH came from her marriage to Charles and when that ended, she was given a courtesy title. Now, wake up from your, "My Little Pony" dreams and see reality, Diana was a petulant, spiteful woman who played the role of the, 'scorned woman' to perfection, the reality was totally different. *GROW UP*

Hi Janet, The Koh-i-Noor is on the Queen's Mother Crown; Or the Queen's Consort Crown, per se!! After Queen Victoria's death, the Koh-i-Noor was set in the Crown of Queen Alexandra, the wife of Edward VII, that was used to crown her at their coronation in 1902. The diamond was transferred to Queen Mary's Crown in 1911, and finally to The Queen Mother's Crown in 1937. When The Queen Mother died in 2002, it was placed on top of her coffin for the lying-in-state and funeral. In the Sceptre is the Cullinan I , or the Great Star of Africa, is a pendeloque-cut brilliant weighing 530.2 carats (106.04 g) and has 74 facets. Hope this was useful. x
